Learning Traditional Chinese Radical 部首 6

In the last video I shared about the radical of stars, but the sky is not only made up of stars, it is also made up of other things or phenomena?

Anyway, let's look at the words related to the weather.

雨 means rain, the drops of water that fall from the clouds, so we have cloud 雲
The tiny drops of water come together to form a thick cloud, close to the land is fog霧.
When the air temperature is below the freezing point of water and the water turn into the thin, white layer of ice, called 霜 frost.

風means wind, is air move horizontal, a lot of wind will be windy 颳風
風 have other meanings, related to change caused by flow.
For example, the news from afar called 風聲rumor.
風 also related to appearance or behavior.
If we say the appearance of a particular place will be 風景 landscape.
When we say the custom of a particular place will be 風俗custom.
If we use 風 to describe the behavior of a family, it will be 門風 family tradition principles.
and if we use it to describe a person whose way of doing something will be 作風 style.

Now we have rain and wind, I think there is something that we can't see, we can't touch, but all around us, yes, it is air.

so, 气 means air空氣
A measure of how hot or cold the air is, we call it 氣溫 air temperature.
The air around you has weight, and it pushes against everything it touches. This pressure is called 氣壓 air pressure.
Water in its gaseous form is called 氣態gaseous.
Speaking of gaseous, most words that use 气 as 部首 appears on the Periodic table元素週期表.
Since the Periodic table is divided into blocks by chemical characteristics, we can see that the scholar who translated it by the chemical characteristics as well, so we could know this block is related to gas and this one will be nonmetallic, except 汞mercury also known as 水銀, 部首 is 水, and other 部首 are all related to 金, which means they are metallic.

The last one is the 部首 which just shows up on the periodic table and is called 石.

石 means stone石頭, the hard, solid substance, we have 岩石 rock.
A dark, thick oil extracted from the ground, from which various substances such as gasoline, paraffin, and diesel oil are produced, we called it 石油petroleum
