Our last story of 鬼月 is about the lake on the campus.

There is a large lake between the academic area and the student dormitory. To make it easier for students to move between the two areas, a suspension bridge was built for people to use. But there were several accidents where students fell into the lake. The old suspension bridge was later replaced by a concrete bridge. However, the female ghost on the bridge never left.
All stories take place at 12 midnight. According to the rumor, climb up the stairs next to the bridge while counting the steps. When you count to a certain number, look back and you will see a female ghost with long hair wearing white clothes. Some people say that she will linger by the bridge, sometimes sighing and sometimes crying, which sounds very pitiful. Anyone who tried to comfort her would scream and faint the moment they saw her face. It is also said that if you meet her alone at the bridge, she will ask you what time it is. At this time, you must not say the correct time. If you tell the right time, the female ghost will drag you into the depths of the lake. This is called "抓交替".
There are different versions of the legend, the most common version is that a girl saw her boyfriend kissing another girl on the bridge. She was angry and wanted to rush over to argue with her boyfriend, but she accidentally fell into the lake and drowned. Another version is: The girl was so sad that she jumped into the lake.
But no matter which version it is, it's all about a drowned female ghost appearing next to the bridge, which is why this bridge will be called 「女鬼橋」.
Adapted into a movie of the same name: 女鬼橋(The Bridge Curse)
This story was adapted into a movie in 2020. It was later made into a game called 《女鬼橋 開魂路》"The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation," which was released on Steam on August 25, 2022.
The movie had a sequel called《女鬼橋2：怨鬼樓》"The Bridge Curse: Ritual." To be released in 2023. The plot of the story is adapted from: "逆八卦的大樓", which I talked about in my last video, and has also been adapted into a game 《女鬼橋二 釋魂路》and a mobile game.

抓交替 grabbing a substitute
水鬼 Water ghost, often depicted as a soul trapped in water. It is believed to be the spirit of a person who has drowned or committed suicide by drowning. To be released from this state, the 水鬼 must drag a living person into the water to take its place, a process called "抓交替" (grabbing a substitute).
