Usage Tip: 

As a verb, "走" can mean "to walk." Here are four common phrases with "走":
  • 往回走: To turn back / to retrace your steps
    • 你走過頭囉~ 你現在往回走,旁邊那棟白色的大樓就是醫院。
      You've gone too far! Head back the way you came, and the white building right next to you is the hospital.
  • 走去 / 走過去: To walk over there (moving away from the speaker)
    • 我看著她朝著糖果屋走去,沒有一絲猶豫。
      I watched her walk toward the candy house without the slightest hesitation.
  • 走來 / 走過來: To walk over here (moving toward the speaker)
    • 一個陌生男子朝我走來,詢問現在幾點。
      A stranger walked toward me and asked for the time.
  • 走來走去/ 走過來走過去: To pace back and forth (often used when someone is deep in thought, anxious, or restless)
    • 我看到她在餐廳門口走過來走過去,就是不進來。
      I saw her pacing back and forth in front of the restaurant, hesitating, but just wouldn't come inside.
